About the Journal

Focus

International Journal of Engineering Insights is a peer-reviewed open-access academic journal, whose publishing entity is a Scientific Association. The journal aims to publish original articles, surveys, review, or peer-reviewed articles. Its aim is to promote and disseminate scientific knowledge in various areas of engineering, including robotics, autonomous systems, control systems, software, machine learning, mechatronics, unmanned systems, networking, cybersecurity, and other areas, related and oriented to cutting-edge technology can be applied to complex engineering problems. The journal aims to provide an international forum for reporting on the latest engineering developments in theory, design and applications, with a focus on system modelling, control software, robotics, service applications and human-machine interaction. Special emphasis is given to technological innovations and real world applications.

International Journal of Engineering Insights doesn't have article processing charges. The journal is published semi-annually by SCI-THOTH Editorial.

It is aimed at researchers, lecturers, students in areas of engineering sciences.

Scope

This scholarly journal is open to submissions of original manuscripts in the areas of engineering and technological innovation. We are especially interested in the publication of research that is novel and significant for the field, and that contributes to broadening the scientific community's understanding of the research topics. We accept manuscripts from researchers around the world, and we ensure that peer review processes are rigorous and unbiased.

International Journal of Engineering Insights publishes semi-annually a group of papers with notable scientific contributions, offering a forum and resulting advantages, since it motivates the publication of papers oriented towards solving current engineering problems. Likewise, the journal seeks to forge a publication model for the exchange of ideas, reducing existing gaps between conceptual engineering and applied engineering, thus unifying various areas of science such as mathematics, physics, engineering, mechanics, among others. Additionally, International Journal of Engineering Insights aims to stimulate interaction between the various levels of academia, industry and governments, fostering collaboration between engineers, researchers, teachers and students worldwide.

The journal's scope covers topics within the broad domain of robotics, including, but not limited to, the following topics: the modeling, identification, and control of robotic systems; Biomedical, rehabilitation and surgical robotics; Exoskeletons, prostheses and artificial organs; AI, neural networks and fuzzy logic in control; Human-machine interaction; systems guided by artificial vision or computer vision, and others in the area.

Peer Review Process

All submissions must be sent through the Open Journal System (OJS), which guarantees the electronic and auditable record of the interactions between Editors, reviewers and authors. Once the relevance and scientific solvency of the article has been determined by the Editor, the document is sent to a minimum of two experts of recognized international prestige in the field, using the internationally standardized double-blind peer review system that guarantees the anonymity of both the authors of the manuscripts as peer reviewers. In the case of discrepant results, they will be referred to a third opinion. The editor-in-chief will take into account the recommendations of the peer reviewers and will decide one of the following options: a) accept the submission without corrections; b) accept the submission after minor modifications; c) accept the submission after major modifications; d) reject the submission with resubmission invitation; e) reject the submission without resubmission invitation.

The peer-review process starts from the moment the articles are submitted through the OJS system until the completion of the reviews, the process lasts an average time of 12-16 weeks, except for incidents. The reviewers, in turn, must also comply with the reviewer guidelines and the reviewers' code of ethics.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Therefore, all the contents of the Journal are freely accessible and are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License

Publication frequency

International Journal of Engineering Insights is published semiannually. The issues are published every six months at the end of November and May.

Plagiarism and originality report

All submissions are assessed on Turnitin in order to detect plagiarism. The journal accepts submissions with a similarity index no more than 25%. If the submission has a similarity index higher than 25%, the authors have the opportunity to reduce it and resubmit the work to the journal.
